Itinerary


Meet upon arrival and transfer to Houseboat a distance of 15 Kms will be covered in about 35 Minutes. Afternoon: sightseeing of Mughal Gardens visiting Nishat Bagh (Abode of pleasure) built by Asif Khan brother in law of Jahangir in 1632 AD. In addition, Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) built by Jahangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is about 12 and 15 kms respectively. Enroute visit carpet-weaving factory.
Evening Enjoy a majestic Shikara ride on Dal Lake. Visiting floating and Vegetable gardens etc. Also, witness walnut woodcarving and paper mashie making demonstration
Dinner Overnight at Houseboat

After Breakfast, drive ahead Sonamarg (Golden Meadow). The distance of about 85 will be covered in 2 hrs. Sonamarg lies in Sind Valley streamed with flowers and surrounded by mountains. Sonamarg is also the base for some interesting treks to the high altitude of Himalayan Lakes. Enjoy horse riding upto Thajiwas glacier and sledge riding on snow.
Optional One can also visit Zojila Pass (Zero Point) is about 30 Kms from Sonamarg One Way. It runs at an elevation of approximately 3,528 metres (11,575 ft). Evening back to Srinagar.
Dinner Overnight at Hotel

After breakfast drive to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds). The distance of about 100 kms will be covered in about 3 hrs .Enroute visiting Saffron fields, Awantipura ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantiwareman), see the beautiful countryside on the way and lot of rice fields. Drive through the pine forest. Also visit Apple Gardens .Arrive Pahalgam transfer to Hotel. Afternoon have bridle walks and feed your cameras with the picture of magnificent view of mountains.

Betaab Valley – Betaab valley is situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Pahalgam in Anantnag in India's northernmost state of Jammu and Kashmir. The valley got its name from the Sunny – Deol – Amrita Singh hit debut film Betaab. The Valley is towards northeast of Pahalgam and falls between Pahalgam and Chandanwari and is en route Amarnath Temple Yatra. The valley surrounded by lush green meadows, snow clad mountains and covered with dense vegetation
Chandanwari - Situated 16-km from Pahalgam, Chandanwari is the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra, which takes place every year in the month of Sawan (Rain). It is famous for snow sledging on a snow bridge. Taxi cabs can be hired from Pahalgam for a roundtrip. The trip takes about four-five hours on a semi-road that has the Lidder River meandering on the one side, and lofty, snow-capped mountains on the other. Some people prefer to do a day hike to Chandanwari. At Chandanwari, the Sheeshnag River is captivating with its sheer force and clear waters. You can get an opportunity to do sledge riding and get up to some heights, upto the fifth point which is also a route that yatris take to reach the Amarnath Cave. "Snow fights" is what people generally indulge in here before they sledge back down. Many prefer to sip a cup of tea of snack at the nearby dhabas.Hajan, on the way to Chandanwari is an idyllic spot for a picnic. Filmgoers will recognize it instantly as it has been the location of several movie scenes. “Betaab Valley" is the place where they shot the famous scenes from movie Betaab.
Chandanwari is also known for its natural attractions. It has some of the best picnic spots and is reachable by road. Mini buses operate from Pahalgam to Chandanwari. The weather can be very unpredictable at the place
Aru Valley - The Aru valley is noted for its scenic meadows. It is popular among the tourists for its peaceful environment and scenic beauty.
The village is a base camp for trekkers to the Kolahoi Glacier, the Tarsar-Marsar lakes and the Katrinag Valley. It is also a base for the treks to Lidderwat, the Vishansar-Kishansar lakes and Kangan. He Kolahoi is the largest glacier in the Kashmir Valley, and is located near Mt. Kolahoi (5425m), the highest peak in the Valley. A number of hotels, restaurants and huts are available for boarding and lodging.
There are about 20 alpine lakes, peaks and meadows around the Aru Valley. In the winters, when Aru receives heavy snowfall, skiing and heli-skiing are practiced. Other popular tourist activities include fishing of trout in the Lidder River, trekking, hiking, horse riding, sightseeing and photography.

Optional visit Zojila Pass (Own) (Zero Point) which is 30 Kms from Sonamarg (One Way) and is Gateway to Ladakh. It runs at an elevation of approximately 3,528 metres (11,575 ft), and is the second highest pass after Fotu La on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway. It is often closed during winter, though the Border Road Organization (BRO) is working to extend traffic to more period in winter. The Beacon Force unit of the BRO is responsible for clearing and maintenance of the road during winter. Driving through the pass in winter means driving between thick walls of ice on both sides. After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730 Mts. above sea level. The distance of about 155 kms and will be covered in about 5 hrs. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. On Arrival at Gulmarg transfer to Hotel. Enjoy Gondola ride upto Kangdoor (1st Phase).

After breakfast drive to Srinagar Airport a distance of 75 Kms will be covered in about 2 ½ Hrs
