Detailed Itinerary

  • DAY 1: – Arrive in Auckland

    Welcome to Auckland, ‘The City of Sails!’ Upon arrival you will be met by our local representative for your transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax after a long haul flight.

  • DAY 2: – Auckland – City Tour

    After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a city tour of Auckland. Enjoy a visit to Auckland’s famous landmark Mount Eden, an inactive volcano. The summit of this mountain offers brilliant panoramic views of the city and harbours. Your visit also includes Victoria Park Market and West Haven Marina. Rest of the day is at leisure or you can take an optional hop on hop off tour pass and enjoy Auckland’s main attractions amongst which Auckland museum, Parnell Village, Kelly Tarlton's, Auckland waterfront, Sky Tower. The Auckland hop on hop off pass can be a 1 hour tour or a full day tour visiting Auckland attractions along the way on your choice! When you are ready to move to the next attraction simply return to the bus stop and get on the bus as it comes around the circuit.

  • DAY 3: – Travel from Auckland to Rotorua via Waitomo

    After breakfast at the hotel, check out as you travel south through the fertile Waikato region to arrive Waitomo. Enjoy a guided tour of the famous Glow worm Caves including an underground boat ride followed by lunch. From the moment you enter this subterranean wonderland you will discover an ancient underground labyrinth. You will marvel at the amazing limestone caverns and formations created by Mother Nature. The acoustics in the cave are world-renowned. The highlight of your tour is an unrivalled boat trip through the spectacular Glow worm Grotto. Experience the wonder as you glide silently through the starry wonderland, your way is lit by a myriad of tiny glow worm lights glittering, glimmering and reflecting off the water. In the afternoon after lunch proceed to Rotorua.

  • DAY 4: – Visit Te Puia, Agrodome, and Rainbow Springs

    After breakfast at the hotel, visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve to see boiling mud pools and roaring geysers. Following this, visit Rainbow Springs to see New Zealand’s trout, birds and wildlife before continuing to the Agrodome for a New Zealand farm show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars of our sheep industry. Afternoon is at leisure. In the evening we recommend you to enjoy an authentic Maori Hangi (feast) and Concert.

  • DAY 5: – Travel from Rotorua to Wellington

    After breakfast at the hotel, pack your bags and check out of the hotel as you travel south to reach the popular lake resort of Taupo before continuing on the Desert Road, dominated in the background by the three peaks of Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro. Continue south through farmland before arriving in the ‘Capital City’ of Wellington.

  • DAY 6: – Explore Wellington at Leisure

    After breakfast at the hotel, we recommend you to visit Te Papa national museum. Te Papa is New Zealand’s national museum which is prominent for being bi-cultural, scholarly, innovative and fun. Later the afternoon is at leisure for you to explore the capital city on your own or take an optional city orientation tour. This tour familiarizes you with the Parliament Buildings, Old Saint Paul's Cathedral, the Lady Norwood Rose Gardens, the Cable Car (at own expense) and the National Art Gallery and Museum. You can appreciate the fabulous views of Wellington City from the summit of Mt Victoria. You'll also see Oriental Bay and some other scenic bays, including the beautiful Marine Parade.

  • DAY 7: – Travel from Wellington to Kaikoura via Picton

    After breakfast at the hotel, voyage across Cook Strait, the water body that separates the two Islands of New Zealand, and into the Marlborough Sounds to capture the stunning views of its sparkling clear waters and lush forests, before arriving in Picton. Proceed travelling south by road through the town of Blenheim to reach Kaikoura a town that is steeped in Maori history and legend.

  • DAY 8: – Travel from Kaikoura to Christchurch

    After breakfast at the hotel, we recommend you to take an optional whale watching cruise. In the afternoon bid farewell to Kaikoura as you turn inward and travel through North Canterbury to reach Christchurch the ‘Garden City’.

  • DAY 9: – Travel to Queenstown via Mt Cook

    After breakfast at the hotel, travel to Lake Tekapo and the Church of the Good Shepherd via the fertile Canterbury Plains before proceeding to Mt Cook New Zealand’s highest mountain. Depart Mt Cook and trail the shores of Lake Pukaki to the ‘Alpine Resort’ of Queenstown.

  • DAY 10: – Journey to Milford and then back to Queensland

    After breakfast at the hotel, travel through Lumsden and Te Anau to the Fiordland National Park. Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the man-made Homer Tunnel and arrive in Milford Sound. Enjoy a cruise on the fiord before returning to Queenstown.

  • DAY 11: – Spend a day at leisure at Queenstown

    After breakfast at the hotel, the day is free to explore the endless optional attractions and adventure sports available. Queenstown offers bungy jumping, jet boating, white water rafting, gondola rides and much more.

  • DAY 12: – Queenstown – Glacier Region

    After breakfast at the hotel, journey past Lake Wanaka and Hawea before turning into the Haast Pass and the World Heritage Westland National Park. Continue north to arrive in Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers.

  • DAY 13: – Glacier Region

    After breakfast at the hotel, the day is at leisure to explore this magnificent glacier region. Optional activities include a scenic flight or guided walk on one of the glaciers. Optional activities not included in the tour price.

  • DAY 14: – Travel from the Glacier Region to Christchurch

    After breakfast at the hotel, travel north to Greymouth, you will board the world famous Tranz Alpine Train. Travel over the fertile Canterbury Plains to arrive in ‘The Garden City’ of Christchurch.
